Job description

Your expertise shapes every project before construction begins.
Bring your building inspection and plan review experience to a role that helps ensure safe, compliant development across Branson.

What do you need to be considered for this incredible opportunity?

  • Have at least five (5) years of experience as a building inspector with a government organization & three (3) years of experience as a plans examiner.
  • Have ICC Certification as a Building Plans Examiner or be able to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • At least two (2) years of experience related to enforcement and/or application of property maintenance, building, sign, zoning, and codes is preferred.

What does "A Day in the Life" Look Like?

  • Review and approve building and construction plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. 
  • Interpret and apply ICC codes, ordinances, and technical standards to real-world projects.
  • Communicate code requirements clearly through written comments, meetings, and daily interactions with architects, engineers, contractors, and the public.
  • Conduct periodic field inspections to verify construction matches approved plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to support permitting, inspections, and compliance efforts.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $26.43 an hour and will increase to $27.49 pre hour after 6 months of successful probation.
