Job description

Job Duties

Job Summary:

The Boxer inspects packages, assembles and fills boxes and stacks filled cases on pallets

Essential Functions:

Folds boxes per specifications.

Attaches identification labels to boxes.

Places specified number of products in container.

Counts items packed to ensure compliance with company standards.

Passes filled boxes through tape machine.

Checks boxes for correct labeling and damage

Loads pallets with filled boxes.

Monitors and records temperatures of product.

Draws random samples according to quality assurance specifications.

Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning.

Cleans and Sanitizes production equipment, tools and work area per Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP)

Cleans equipment according to company standards

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

This role is non-exempt at $20.09 to $24 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Travel/On-Call Requirements: not required for this position

Preferred Education & Experiences:

Three-to-six-months' food manufacturing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of production processes, food safety and quality controls typically required in a food manufacturing environment.

Skills:

Ability to count by multiples 2s and 3s

Abilities:

Ability to compare written information from work order to what is printed on the case.

Ability to interpret simple written instructions and follow established procedures.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with coworkers.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and cold conditions, and moving mechanical parts

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.

Work Ability Requirements:

Employee regularly bends or leans at waist level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp packages and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch

The employee lifts and carries objects up to 5 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
