Contract (1 year)

Structural Analysis Engineer

CAD Systems

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing St. Louis is building the future ‒ creating innovative solutions that will define the next generation of aerospace. We are currently seeking Experienced Structural Analysis Engineers to verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. These positions are located in the Greater St. Louis region and support current and emerging aircraft programs as part of the Air Dominance division in Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS).

Position Responsibilities
  • Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyses/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret or Top-Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 10+ years of relevant structural analysis experience
  • 8+ years experience analyzing primary structure, subsystems, or weapons in the Aerospace Industry
  • Experience performing hand calculations, using industry CAD system (e.g. PRO-E, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, NX/Teamcenter, CATIA/ENOVIA), FEM software (PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks, Abaqus), and MS Office
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience with Boeing Analysis Tools (CAESAR, Lifeworks, Mechanica, Common Structures Workstation).
  • Prior Boeing Work Experience strongly preferred
