Job description

As a Denali ATV Assistant Tour Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of daily ATV tour operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. In this role, you will oversee tour flow, monitor trail conditions, and manage the guide team to maintain a consistently high-quality guest experience. Youll also play a direct role in guest service, occasionally stepping in to guide tours when needed or assisting with on-trail support during busy periods. The Tour Managers work hand in hand with the Operations Managers and other department leaders to coordinate tour schedules, address day-to-day challenges, and ensure communication between teams remains clear and effective. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced outdoor environment. As a Tour Manager, you are a key influence on the guest journey and the performance of the guide team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all ATV tour logistics with a focus on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Uphold company standards for professionalism, hospitality, and guest experience.
  • Monitor and report on trail conditions; organize and participate in proactive trail maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with management team to ensure cohesive daily operations.
  • Provide feedback and constructive criticism to guides for their improvement.
  • Step in to guide ATV tours as needed.
  • Assist in guest service, on-trail support, and incident response when necessary.
  • Work 40-50 hours a week.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years managing in fast-paced, guest service atmosphere.
  • Minimum 2 years working in customer service.
  • Minimum 1 year working as a tour guide in some capacity.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to work on feet for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Flexibility with scheduling.
  • Ability to think calm and critically in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to grow and maintain a positive team.
  • Ability to maintain and project a positive attitude in all weather conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to coordinate and assist in trail maintenance as needed.
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communications skills.
  • First Aid and CPR certified.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years managing in a fast-paced, guest service atmosphere.
  • 2 years experience in bus/van driving.
  • General knowledge of ATV maintenance.
  • Experience operating skid-steer and mini-excavator.
  • Experience working in seasonal tourism.
  • Familiarity with Denali National Park history, landscape and wildlife.

Pay is Depending on Experience: Starting at $24 ($22 hourly base wage + $2 per hour end of season bonus)
