Description
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Aircraft Component Technician is responsible for assisting in the performance of various aircraft component maintenance/inspection related tasks and duties as delegated by the shop leadership team.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:
  • Performs various technical/mechanical functions pertaining to aircraft component maintenance and inspection processes.
  • Assist higher level technicians with various component tasks as necessary (cleaning, testing, paperwork, etc.)
  • Perform various facility and equipment maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Perform repairs on various types of aircraft components, while maintaining company specifications.
  • Aid in evaluation to insure corrective measures; aid quality inspectors in completion of unit return to service.
  • Perform multiple tasks demonstrating a general mechanical ability to work various aircraft component repairs and rework using hand tools like drills, power tools and precision measuring instruments. May be required to pass annual certification test verifying ability to operate machinery, equipment, forklift, overhead crane, sealant, and torque.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing and to participate in team problem solving and team CI activities
  • Follow all safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to communicate in English per FAA requirements.
  • Basic Mathematics.
  • Basic tool identification, selection, and proper operation.
  • Computer: basic Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Able to lift objects up to 50lbs multiple times per day.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Understand and interpret technical documentation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of 1-year mechanical experience.
  • One year or more experience in disassembly, assembly, maintenance, repair and overhaul, of various aircraft components in an MRO environment preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A&P license strongly preferred but not required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a shop environment with the potential for loud noises.

$18-$22/hr
