How You Will Make an Impact
As a Lead Service Support Representative within our Asset Information Management (AIM) / Integrated Equipment Services (IES) organization, you will play a critical role in supporting laboratory operations at a key client site in Cambridge, MA.
Acting as the primary point of contact for laboratory equipment service coordination, asset management, and inventory processes, you will partner closely with scientists, laboratory personnel, service vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless support of research and development activities.
This highly visible role requires strong organizational skills, customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between client stakeholders, service providers, and Thermo Fisher teams for laboratory equipment support activities.
  • Coordinate and track preventive maintenance, calibration, repair services, and vendor service requests.
  • Manage equipment asset records and ensure data accuracy within asset management and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit annual inventory and asset reporting requirements.
  • Participate in weekly inventory, surplus, and asset management meetings, providing updates and recommendations as needed.
  • Monitor service request workflows, ensuring timely completion and resolution of equipment-related issues.
  • Escort and coordinate external service vendors while ensuring compliance with site safety and security requirements.
  • Support inventory audits, equipment lifecycle management, asset tagging, and reconciliation activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with client, Thermo Fisher, and regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations and asset management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong relationships with laboratory personnel and key stakeholders.
  • Support additional laboratory operations and service initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 4+ years of experience supporting laboratory operations, asset management, equipment services, or related technical environments.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, scientific, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS, asset management systems, or related databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service and stakeholder management experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $23.04-$34.56.
