Job Description
Our De Pere, Wisconsin site is looking for a Printer Operator to join our dynamic team - excellent communication, team-building and critical thinking skills are essential to success in this role.
Position Summary:
As a member of the production team, the primary responsibility of this function is to coordinate and perform activities necessary to ensure quality and efficient make-ready, run and clean-up of imaging equipment. In addition to working in a team environment with little supervision, the technical assistant must cooperate and work with others, share information, take the initiative to improve the process and solve the problem.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with all press operations during make-ready, run and clean-up as work process requires, i.e.: - open paper, operate splicers, tape on rolls, web press, hook up and clean ink pumps, monitor ink viscosity, mount and set plates. Take direction from press operator and/or team leader. Assist with catching and packing of product,, when necessary.
2. Understand and follow order specifications and tolerances by reading docket and specification sheets.
3. Perform makeready, run and adjust ,clean-up and maintenance of imaging systems to ensure a quality product. Learn and keep updated on all imaging systems.
4. Continuously inspect product and troubleshoot imaging and press equipment to ensure product meets customer specifications.
5. Operate CRT to set up imaging programs making changes as necessary according to procedures.
6. Perform imaging and press paperwork and follow necessary consumable maintenance and productivity procedures.
7. Ensure PM's are done on proprietary imaging equipment on a daily basis.
8. Keep press and surrounding work area clean and neat at all times.
9. Work with other team members and departments to reduce make-ready and to increase operating efficiencies.
10. Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Utilize guards on machines when in operation.
11. Follow safety, production, recycling and other set procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
12. All other duties as assigned.
13. Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements:
Must have good basic math and measurement skills. Good mechanical skills required. Ability to read, comprehend what is read and visually inspect materials to check for quality and specifications. Ability to discriminate colors and compare to specifications is required. Ability to lift under 50 pounds frequently. Willingness to cross train and perform duties of finishing and operations of the press. Ability to train on 1st Shift.
PC experience desirable. Basic understanding of Windows necessary.

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $24.15 to $38.00/ hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay. RRD's benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
