A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOTEL FRONT DESK AGENT / GUEST SERVICES

As a Hotel Front Desk Agent / Guest Services, you are the face of our company to many of our guests. Whether working the night shift or the morning shift, you arrive each day determined to provide amazing hospitality to make sure our guests feel at home. You remain calm and tactful when helping challenging guests. Your excellent customer service skills make them feel welcomed as they arrive, and your smile is what they remember long after leaving.

You are organized and quick-thinking. You often perform several tasks at one time as you check guests in and out, make reservations, take phone calls, answering guests' questions, and solve problems. You also keep track of ever-changing information such as which rooms are available or need housekeeping. When working the night shift, you follow the hotel's night auditor checklist and ensure all tasks are complete. You also run the end-of-day night audit reports in the property management system (PMS). With attention to detail, you make sure the front desk, lobby, and common areas are clean and organized.

With a high level of integrity, you handle confidential information including guest records. Whether working the morning shift or night shift, you are responsible for the cash drawer contents and financial transactions that occur during your shift. You maintain accurate records including cash flows, registration cards, reservation cards, and property walks. You ensure safety and security by making sure the front doors and swimming pool area gates are locked at the appropriate hour. You feel great about the important part you play in the success of both our hotel and our guests' travels!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOTEL FRONT DESK AGENT / GUEST SERVICES

  • At least one month of related experience or training
