Public Area and Maintenance AttendantPosition Summary

The Public Area and Maintenance Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality of hotel public areas, guest rooms, and hotel facilities. This position combines custodial duties, preventative maintenance, and basic repair work and plays an important role in creating a positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPublic Area Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, stairwells, public restrooms, meeting rooms, and other public spaces.

  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and perform general cleaning duties.

  • Remove trash and maintain exterior trash receptacles.

  • Clean entrances, sidewalks, and exterior guest areas.

  • Assist housekeeping with deep cleaning projects and guest room cleaning as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and work areas.

Maintenance Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.

  • Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned.

  • Replace light bulbs, batteries, filters, and other routine building components.

  • Assist with painting, furniture repairs, room inspections, and property improvement projects.
