Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial success, and guest experience of the hotel. This role provides strategic direction across all departments while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence. The General Manager serves as the property's leader, ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance, an engaged team, and an exceptional experience for guests, owners, and brand partners. Brand & significant Union Labor Relations experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial performance.

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop department leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Champion a guest-centric culture that delivers memorable experiences consistent with the property's brand and market positioning.

Oversee daily operations across all hotel departments, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational efficiency.

Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership, guests, brand partners, vendors, community organizations, and local business leaders.

Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members while promoting employee engagement and professional growth.

Lead by example through a visible, hands-on leadership approach that supports both guests and employees.

Administrative Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and achieve the hotel's annual operating budget, capital plan, and business objectives.

Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, labor management, expense controls, and revenue optimization.

Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve profitability, guest satisfaction, market share, and operational efficiency.

Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total hotel revenue.

Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, operating procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Maintain the physical condition of the property by partnering with Engineering and ownership to identify and execute capital improvement opportunities.

Ensure accurate financial reporting, operational controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including prior experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or comparable executive leadership role.

Role requires a strong collaborative leader who is highly skilled in managing a unionized workforce, building productive labor-management relationships, and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements while achieving operational and financial objectives.

Demonstrated success leading hotel operations while achieving financial, operational, and guest satisfaction goals.

Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Revenue Management.

Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, P&L accountability, and expense control.

Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to build high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Experience working with branded, independent, boutique, lifestyle, luxury, resort, or full-service hotels is preferred, depending on the property's market positioning.

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
