Location: Hotel Arista
Department: Property Operations
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $26-29/hour, commensurate with experience and education.
Age Requirements: Must be 18+
Availability: Must have availability to work 2-3 nights/week including Weekend Nights, Flexible with all evening availability.
Role Summary:
This position is responsible for performing general maintenance in and around the hotel. This may include repairs, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling, and general preventative maintenance upkeep to keep the facility functional and attractive to guests and associates.
Responsibilities:
  1. Performs specialty work including construction, drywall repairs, plumbing, mechanical, light carpentry and furniture repair, and basic Electrical repairs.
  2. Assists Engineer III with and performs mechanical laundry repairs and maintenance was well as HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  3. Participates in the established proactive maintenance program to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns, and general deprecation of hotel rooms and equipment. This will also include Guestroom, Public and Back-of-House Space GRO and PM checklists.
  4. Participates alongside Engineer I, Engineer III, and Director of Property Operations with completion of Planned, Capital, and Product Improvement Projects.
  5. Performs systematic checks and inspections to aid in the upkeep of the hotel.Responds to guests calls and work tickets to repair and resolve room maintenance requests and other associated work tickets as requested.
  6. Paints, patches, and repairs hotel public areas and guest rooms.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while under time constraints and deadlines.
  8. Ability to troubleshoot television, WIFI, and phone systems.
  9. Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  10. Communicates via radio with Hotel Management, all other Departments, and the Director of Property Operations via radio to respond to all Engineering service calls.
  11. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including Evenings, weekends, and holidays, 1st, and 2nd shifts.
  12. Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuations.
  13. Assists with special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent education.

Experience:
  1. Two years of engineer experience
  2. Previous experience working with a hotel property preferred.
  3. Previous experience with building construction, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and laundry equipment maintenance required.
  4. Good working knowledge required of commercial building HVAC systems and the ability to maintain and repair them

Physical Requirements:
  1. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. frequently.
  2. Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  3. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  4. Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  5. Must be able to bend, squat and lift to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
