Job description

Position Summary

Directs the housekeeping program to ensure the facility remains clean, orderly, and well-maintained by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


General Responsibilities
  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure quality standards are met

  • Ensure the department operates according to hotel standards, policies, and procedures

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional guest service

  • Provide timely updates and feedback to the Supervisor or General Manager


Specific Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas

  • Assign rooms and duties to housekeeping staff and provide direction, supervision, and support

  • Assist with employee training and ensure staff have the tools and equipment needed to perform their duties effectively

  • Maintain and monitor PAR levels and submit monthly linen and terry inventory reports

  • Assist with recruitment and staffing within the housekeeping department

  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair

  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, counting, and storage of linens, bathroom supplies, cleaning materials, and equipment

  • Report any damage, breakage, or out-of-service items immediately to the Duty Manager for resolution or guest billing if applicable

  • Communicate housekeeping staff needs regarding materials, supplies, or equipment to management

  • Notify management when supply or equipment PAR levels are insufficient

  • Maintain procedures for lost and found items to ensure security and proper documentation

  • Maximize resources while maintaining cost controls according to hotel guidelines

  • Identify departmental training needs and recommend training programs to management regularly

  • Respond to guest complaints, requests, or maintenance concerns and communicate them to the Front Office Manager or General Manager

  • Maintain high product quality and service standards for all hotel guests

  • Ensure guest satisfaction at all times

  • Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules to meet operational needs

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
