Description
Purpose and Scope
The Front Desk Receptionist is the "Ambassador of First Impressions" for The Gideons International and will deliver a welcoming experience for members and guests. Receptionist responsibilities include offering administrative support across the organization and coordination of front-desk activities. The successful Receptionist will strike a balance by combining communication skills with technical skills to build a successful, hospitable environment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Greet and direct visitors to the proper person or place
  • Give Heritage Center tours to members and guests
  • Provide hospitality to visiting groups including scheduling, preparation of meeting space, serving meals
  • Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed
  • Provide Outbound calls to non-member Scripture request venues
  • Make pastor reference calls for prospective applicants
  • Maintain office security by following procedures (visitor logbook, visitor name badges)
  • Receive and process USA non-member Scripture requests (Hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, doctors' offices, shelters, clinics, etc.) Determine the appropriate camp responsible for the distribution area and generate the letters with request information
  • Maintain proper files for all USA Scripture requests, new believers, Heritage Center tours
  • Input data entry (membership application, etc.)
  • Receive and sign for special delivery letters, small deliveries, and services, as needed
  • Ensure reception area is tidy, presentable and welcoming
  • Participates in daily morning staff devotions; on a rotating basis serves by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leader
  • Perform other duties as assigned
