Job description

Position Summary:

The quality control inspector performs calibration and inspection of parts, assemblies, products and/or materials for quality, defects, appearance, finishes, variance, and operation through specification or by visual comparison methods. The quality control inspector will be responsible for the documentation of all variable and attribute results, will assist in the development of standardized work instructions / procedures in accordance with our Quality Management System. This role will be actively engaged in many levels of the organization and must be an excellent communicator and educator of GD&T and calibration techniques.

To be successful in this position:

  • Perform calibration of variable and attribute gages to high level accuracy compliant with ISO standards
  • Maintain calibration reports and procedures
  • Use and maintenance of gage tracking software
  • Understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and basic trigonometry
  • Experience with understanding engineering models, work instructions and specifications
  • Can inspect component conformance using precision gauges, micrometers and other measuring instruments
  • Have good problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Be collaborative and team oriented
  • Be organized, systematic and detail oriented
  • Can learn from others and follow explicit instruction
  • Have a high level of accountability and pride in your work

Preferred Education / Training / Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical school and/or minimum 3 years’ experience and/or training
    • Training in quality disciplines and metrology is preferred
  • Combination of education and experience considered
  • Experienced with GD&T
  • ASQ certification for mechanical inspection/calibration a plus
