Overview

Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality at the new Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy? Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Sales Manager to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. We're looking for someone who wants to be a part of something bigger and shares our passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences, nurturing a vibrant company culture, and building strong connections with our communities.

Responsibilities
  • Contract group business within assigned sales territory/market.
  • Respond to incoming leads within 24 hours or same day if possible.
  • Work with Director of Sales and Marketing to establish, monitor and administer a yearly business plan that includes: Sales and service goals, timely reports relating to business plan administration, maintenance of a sales "funnel", knowledge and effective use of all sales resources, maintaining exceptional client relations.
  • Attendance at related training events (sales, Delphi, food, wine, etc.).
  • Participation in regularly scheduled sales and convention service related meetings and events.
  • Learn and maintain a current understanding of all Resort outlets and service vendors.
  • Schedule and conduct site tours.
  • Complete numerous tasks simultaneously with strict deadlines on each.
  • Focus on a consistently execute up-selling approach.
  • Work on all aspects of the sales process from receiving inquiry calls, booking business, confirming details, and working with the group while they are at the hotel.
  • Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions, act as event planner for their function
  • General knowledge of conference technology and audio-visual needs.
  • Entertain prospective clients and give tours of event space, outlets, and guest rooms.
  • Keep updated on current sales trends within the market and the competitive set.
  • Other duties and assignments as directed.
Qualifications
  • College degree preferred, preferably with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
  • Has a history of working with sales systems and contracting workflow.
  • Must possess the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests.
  • Ability to manage extensive amounts of information.
  • Knowledge of sales procedures associated with the hotel industry.
  • Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
