Job description

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: The Hotel Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures throughout the hotel property. This role ensures that all plumbing systems are functioning efficiently and effectively, providing exceptional service to maintain guest satisfaction and the property's operational standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Plumbing Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components. Address issues related to water supply, drainage systems, and waste disposal. O Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing problems and implement effective solutions.

2. Maintenance and Inspections: Perform regular inspections of plumbing systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of plumbing systems.

3. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency plumbing situations, such as leaks, blockages, and system failures. Provide quick and efficient solutions to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.

4. Guest and Staff Interaction: Interact with guests and staff professionally and courteously, addressing plumbing-related concerns and providing timely resolutions. Communicate effectively with hotel management regarding the status of repairs and maintenance activities.

5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plumbing repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of plumbing supplies. Prepare detailed reports on plumbing issues, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.

6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all plumbing work complies with local building codes and regulations. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.

7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and departments to support overall hotel operations. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff or apprentices as needed.


SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Performs other duties as required,. special orders, buffet presentation, VIP parties, writing specialty menus for promotions, etc.
  • Supervises daily cleaning, inventorying of walk-in and reach-in boxes.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:

Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. The hotel provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Associate. Exposure to various weather conditions, chemicals, and potential hazards associated with plumbing work. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on the plumbing needs of the hotel.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Considerable knowledge of paint, varnish, stain, enamels, lacquers, wall coverings, masonry work and other related products as well as application and mixing procedures of such products.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and application for working with chemicals.
  • English language communication skills in order to fully comprehend job assignments.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and materials.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in plumbing preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Proven experience as a plumber, preferably in a hotel or commercial setting.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

No special licenses required

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Trump National Doral Miami rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
