Ready to move from the front desk into management?

You have strong hotel front desk experience and feel ready to take on more responsibility?

At Hotel Clarendon, you will not be another employee number in a large hotel chain. You will join an independently owned Quebec hotel with a close-knit team, approachable management and a work environment where your ideas can make a real difference.

We are looking for a bilingual professional who cares deeply about guest service, enjoys supporting a team and wants to grow into an early-career management role.

Why join Hotel Clarendon?

  • A permanent, full-time position of 40 hours per week
  • Compensation based on your experience
  • Group insurance
  • Personal days
  • Free coffee
  • Additional benefits to be discussed during the hiring process
  • A close-knit workplace where employees are known and valued
  • Accessible and supportive management
  • Hands-on guidance as you develop your management skills
  • A versatile role that lets you contribute to several aspects of hotel operations
  • A real opportunity to share ideas and influence how the hotel operates

Your role

As Assistant Front Office Manager, you will work closely with the Front Office Manager to support daily operations and deliver the level of service for which Hotel Clarendon is known.

You will be present for guests, available to your team and involved in the decisions that keep the front desk running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising daily front desk operations
  • Coaching, training and motivating team members
  • Supporting employees through complex situations
  • Ensuring a thoughtful and personalized guest experience
  • Handling complaints and sensitive guest situations
  • Encouraging room upgrades and sales opportunities
  • Replacing the Front Office Manager during their absence
  • Assisting at the front desk when operations require it
  • Collaborating with other hotel departments
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service

Your impact will go beyond the front desk

Hotel Clarendon is known for its warm welcome and high level of guest service. Because we are a close-knit team, you will have the opportunity to understand the wider hotel operation and see the direct impact of your decisions.

We are looking for someone who wants to get involved, keep learning and gradually build a lasting place within our management team.

Ready for your next step?

Do you want to develop your leadership in an iconic Quebec City hotel, surrounded by a team that truly knows and values you?

Apply today and show us how you would help bring the Clarendon experience to life for both our guests and your team.

The person we would like to meet

This could be the right next step for you if:

  • You have strong hotel front desk experience
  • You have worked as a team lead, supervisor or assistant manager
  • You are ready to grow into an early-career management position
  • You understand Quebec’s hotel industry through professional experience gained in Quebec
  • You are fully bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
  • You stay calm and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • You enjoy coaching people, not simply giving instructions
  • You are genuinely committed to outstanding guest service
  • You are comfortable with sales and room upgrade opportunities
  • You are available to work some evenings and weekends
  • You can operate a cash register and point-of-sale terminal

Experience with a hotel property management system, particularly Opera, is an asset. Additional language skills are also welcome.
