Job description

Touchmark at Georgetown is looking for a dependable and hardworking Janitor to join our team. In this role, you’ll help keep our community clean, safe, and well maintained for residents, guests, and team members. This position is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and enjoys being part of a team. What You’ll Do As a Janitor, you will: • Clean and maintain common areas, offices, utility rooms, and other designated areas throughout the community • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and maintain clean, sanitary spaces • Clean floors, surfaces, fixtures, and other areas as assigned • Operate standard janitorial and housekeeping equipment after receiving appropriate training • Follow proper safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, hazardous materials, and bodily substances • Follow infection control and sanitation procedures at all times • Identify maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor • Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and installing or tightening knobs on doors and cabinets • Complete required documentation accurately • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness with no visible dust, debris, or unnecessary clutter • Work independently while also supporting the needs of the department and broader community • Perform additional duties as assigned What We’re Looking For • High school diploma or equivalent • At least one year of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or similar experience preferred, particularly in senior living, healthcare, hotels, resorts, or related environments • Basic mechanical skills • Ability to safely use janitorial equipment and cleaning products • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize cleanliness, safety, or equipment concerns • Professional and respectful communication skills • Ability to accept direction and work effectively as part of a team • Reliable attendance and punctuality • Willingness to work weekends and holidays shifts as needed This position has regular contact with vulnerable adults and may occasionally involve unsupervised interaction with residents.
