As a hotel houseman, your primary job is to make sure that a hotel’s rooms and common areas, including lobbies, hallways, meeting rooms, elevators, and auditoriums, are kept clean and tidy for guests. Typical duties include cleaning the rooms and amenities in their entirety, restocking minibars, replenishing towels and toiletries, emptying trash, and changing bed linens. You may also help with maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs and repairing furniture and fixtures. In some cases, you may be responsible for performing butler services, scheduling laundry services, and reporting maintenance issues to a staff member. A successful hotel houseman has strong customer service and time management skills.
