Oxford Casino Hotel, located in Oxford, Maine, is indeed part of Churchill Downs Incorporated and has seen significant growth since it opened in 2012. The casino boasts a variety of gaming options for our visitors, including 23 table games and over 900 of the latest and most popular slot machines.  The property also features 2 restaurants, the Ox Pub, and the Oxford Express, and a 107-room hotel which includes 6 well-appointed suites.

JOB SUMMARY

The Surveillance Operator observes all areas of the property, and surrounding areas, including Sportsbook, for suspicious behavior and reports all procedural infractions and criminal activity, while maintaining an emphasis on asset/revenue protection.

This position requires availability to work the graveyard shift from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilizes surveillance equipment to observe, report, and record procedural violations and activities that may be unusual, suspicious, or illegal
  • Operates surveillance equipment and software systems, including CCTV cameras, digital video recorders, and monitors to maintain situational awareness
  • Monitors all company assets as well as property employees and guests for procedural violations
  • Detects and reports incidents of cheating, theft, fraud, or other security breaches to the appropriate personnel
  • Dispatches security officers as needed throughout the facility to monitor conduct
  • Maintains cleanliness of workstations and equipment
  • Develop detailed and accurate logs or reports as required
  • Adheres to all gaming policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines regarding surveillance operations to ensure confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Maintain knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Develop Table Games knowledge to effectively observe any cheating or suspicious behavior.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and respond to telephone and radio traffic
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills required. Knowledge of video surveillance software is preferred but not required.  Full on the job training is provided.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in surveillance, security, or related field preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is generally performed in a confined office setting that requires extended periods of time sitting at a desk operating a computer.

The employee will be required to use hands/arms to reach and control objects such as phone, keyboard, copy machine and other office equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The working environment is cool and low-lighted and requires care to avoid trips and falls, warmer clothing may be needed due to the cool environment.

The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming credential issued by the Maine Gambling Control Unit (MGCU)
