About Hot Diggity Dog Resort

Hot Diggity Dog Resort is Escondido's go-to destination for boarding, daycare, and grooming. Our clients trust us with the most important members of their family, and our team takes that seriously — and has a lot of fun doing it. We're growing our grooming department and looking for a Grooming Supervisor to lead the spa, set the standard, and make sure every dog leaves looking (and feeling) their best.

What you'll do

As our Grooming Supervisor, you'll be the leader of a team of 4–6 groomers and bathers. Day to day, you'll:

  • Groom dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments — from full breed-standard cuts to creative styling, hand-stripping, and everything in between

  • Supervise, coach, and develop the grooming team, including reviewing finished work and helping junior staff level up their skills

  • Manage the daily grooming schedule, balance appointment flow, and keep the spa running on time

  • Handle client consultations: understand what each owner wants, set expectations, and resolve any concerns with care

  • Maintain the highest standards for safety, sanitation, and equipment care

  • Partner with the boarding and daycare teams so grooming services flow smoothly with the rest of the resort

  • Help hire and train new groomers and bathers as the department grows

What you bring

  • 3+ years of professional dog grooming experience across multiple breeds and coat types

  • 1+ year in a lead, senior, or supervisory grooming role (formal title not required — what matters is that you've coached other groomers and owned outcomes for a team)

  • Confidence handling dogs of all temperaments using fear-free, low-stress techniques

  • Strong eye for breed standards plus the flexibility to deliver what each owner actually wants

  • Clear, friendly communicator with clients and teammates

  • Reliable, on-time, and comfortable with a schedule that includes weekends

  • Physically able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and safely handle large dogs throughout a shift

Nice to have (not required)

  • NDGAA, IPG, or other formal grooming certification

  • Experience with hand-stripping, Asian fusion, or competition-style work

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Experience in a high-volume boarding or daycare environment
