Hot Dog information

What is a hot dog vendor?

Hot dog vendors are individuals or businesses that prepare and sell hot dogs, typically from carts, stands, or small shops in public places like streets, parks, or events. Their main responsibility is to serve customers by providing cooked hot dogs with a variety of toppings and condiments. Hot dog vendors must follow health and safety regulations, keep their work area clean, and often handle cash transactions. This job requires good customer service skills and the ability to work outdoors for extended periods. Many hot dog vendors are self-employed, running their own small business.

What are some common challenges faced by hot dog vendors when working at busy events or festivals?

Hot Dog Vendors at busy events often face challenges such as managing long customer lines, keeping up with high demand during peak hours, and ensuring food safety and quality in fast-paced situations. Additionally, vendors need to handle cash transactions quickly and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Teamwork and clear communication are essential, especially if working alongside other staff, to keep operations smooth and customers satisfied.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a hot dog vendor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Hot Dog Vendor, you need basic food preparation skills, knowledge of food safety regulations, and often a food handler’s permit or license. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and food cart equipment is typically required. Strong customer service, communication, and time management skills help vendors attract and retain customers. These competencies ensure high-quality food, efficient service, and compliance with health standards in a competitive environment.

Job description

Dog Haus Biergarten — Bartender

Dog Haus Biergarten isn't your average bar shift. We run a full-service bar program featuring craft beer, Haus cocktails, and a Biergarten environment that actually gives you something to talk about with your guests. If you're a high-volume bartender who takes your craft seriously and wants to work somewhere that does too, keep reading.

The role

This is a full-time position averaging 4 to 5 shifts per week, with availability required for evenings and weekends — that's when we're at our best and we need our bar team to be too.

  • Base pay: $12.15/hr
  • Tips: company average of $20/hr — your earning potential here is real
  • You'll work a fast-paced, high-volume bar with full liquor, an extensive craft beer selection, and signature Haus cocktails you'll be trained on
  • Teamwork is non-negotiable here — we run a culture where everyone has each other's back

What we're looking for

  • High-volume bar experience with full liquor service — this is required, not preferred
  • POS experience
  • Craft beer knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to multitask, move with urgency, and still make every guest feel taken care of
  • Dependable, consistent, and genuinely enjoys the hospitality side of the job
  • Title IV Certification required
  • Maricopa County Food Handlers Card required (may be obtained within two weeks of hire)

Join #TheAbsoluteWurst team. It's a real bar, a real culture, and a concept that's growing fast in the Valley.

Dog Haus is a craft casual hot dog concept known for its gourmet hot dogs, sausages, burgers and one Bad Mutha Clucka. Founded by longtime friends Hagop Giragossian, Quasim Riaz and André Vener, the first Dog Haus opened in Pasadena, California in 2010. Dog Haus has garnered critical acclaim for its signature all beef dogs and hand-crafted sausages with no added nitrates, 100% Black Angus beef burgers, and a fried chicken sandwich – all of which are made with hormone- and antibiotic-free meat and served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls. With the brand’s mission to sustainably feed everyone who walks through their doors, Dog Haus also offers plant-based burger and sausage proteins. To chase it down, guests can select craft beers from a tap list emphasizing local favorites or any of our specialty Haus Cocktails and finish their meals on a sweet note with premium shakes. As a brand who gives back, Dog Haus established an ongoing partnership with No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger. Dog Haus currently has 40+ locations nationwide, and 20+ in development.
This is a locally/family owned and operated location with expansion plans in the East Valley. For up-to-date location and brand information, visit doghaus.com or find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @DogHausDogs or our local IG's @doghaus_santanvillage or @doghaus_chandler
