Job description

The Meskwaki Nation Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer. We are seeking problem-solving and community-oriented individuals willing to perform diverse tasks. We enforce state, local, federal, and tribal law. Within the first 2 years of employment, you will be certified as a federal law enforcement officer through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and receive a Special Law Enforcement Commission.The Meskwaki Nation Police Department offers: - $5,000 sign on bonus for non-certified applicants-- $10,000 sign on bonus for certified applicants- Take home car if you live within 30 minutes of the police department- 70-mile residency requirement- Personal day(s) upon hire- Vacation days: accrued 2 hours/week (3/hours per week after 5 years) *- Sick days: accrued 2 hours/week (3/hours per week after 5 years) *- 13 paid holidays *- Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance. Free prescription drugs at the Meskwaki Health Clinic *- 401K Retirement Plan ** Applies after 90-day probationary periodNon-Certified applicants start at $27.56. We place a heavy emphasis on training with a requirement of 40 hours per year. We routinely have officers with more than 100 hours of training in a year. We value the input of our officers.
