Job Description

Position Information

The Event Host Program Aide provides on-site support for clients renting event venue spaces, ensuring a positive and professional event experience. This position delivers customer service, basic audio/visual assistance, guest services, and day-of-event coordination support. Program Aides may also assist with room setup and breakdown based on preplanned layouts. This role offers flexible scheduling with employees selecting shifts based on availability and interest.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Hosting and Client Support: Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients during events; open and close event spaces; respond to client questions and needs; ensure event spaces are used appropriately and in accordance with venue policies.

  • Guest Services and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to event hosts, vendors, and guests; assist with wayfinding and guest flow; address issues professionally and escalate concerns as needed.

  • Audio/Visual and Technical Support: Provide basic audio/visual support including microphones, projectors, screens, and presentation connections; troubleshoot minor technical issues and coordinate with supervisors for advanced support.

  • Event Setup, Breakdown, and Physical Support: Assist with room setup and breakdown according to preplanned layouts; move tables, chairs, staging, and equipment as needed; support events requiring moderate to heavy lifting when scheduled for those shifts.

  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Customer service or event support experience

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Basic comfort with audio/visual equipment and technology

  • Ability to follow written room layouts and event instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior event hosting, hospitality, or venue operations experience

  • Experience providing basic audio/visual or technical support

Other Requirements:

  • Evening and weekend work based on event schedules

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift or move moderate to heavy objects for certain shifts

What You Need to Know

Salary: $15.00 hourly

Other: This role offers flexible scheduling, allowing employees to choose shifts based on their availability and interests, with a minimum shift length of 2 hours.
