Lead the Future of People & Culture at JL Hospitality Management

This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska. Must be willing to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska.

As our portfolio continues to grow across Alaska, we're looking for an experienced, strategic, and forward-thinking Vice President of People & Culture to join our executive leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our organization by driving people through strategies that foster growth, develop leaders, strengthen culture, and support operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Operating Partner, the Vice President of People & Culture will serve as the company's senior HR executive, partnering with executive leadership to build high-performing teams while ensuring compliance, operational consistency, and an outstanding associate experience across a diverse portfolio of hotels.

What You'll Do

As Vice President of People & Culture, you will:

  • Lead the Company's overall Human Resources strategy and vision. 
  • Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and oversight for the Human Resources, Training, and Payroll functions while developing high-performing leaders across the organization.
  • Champion leadership development, succession planning, and organizational growth.
  • Guide employee relations, workplace investigations, and complex employment matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll, performance management, and talent development initiatives.
  • Partner with operations to support acquisitions, hotel openings, organizational growth, and change management.
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and people-first culture that reflects our company values.
  • Develop innovative HR programs, policies, and best practices that support long-term business success.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
  • Executive leadership experience within hospitality or other multi-location organizations strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading HR teams and overseeing payroll operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compliance, compensation, and organizational development.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Alaska and other company locations as business needs require
