To thrive as a Hospitality Copywriter, you need strong writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of the hospitality industry, often supported by a degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to capture brand voice are the soft skills that set outstanding hospitality copywriters apart. These skills ensure engaging, persuasive content that attracts guests and effectively promotes hospitality brands in a competitive market.

What is hospitality copywriting?

Hospitality copywriting is the creation of written content specifically for businesses in the hospitality industry, such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, and travel companies. The goal is to engage potential guests or clients, highlight services and amenities, and encourage bookings or visits. This type of copywriting often includes website content, promotional materials, social media posts, and email campaigns tailored to the unique experiences offered by hospitality brands.

How does a hospitality copywriter typically collaborate with marketing and operations teams to create effective content?

Hospitality copywriters frequently work closely with marketing teams to align messaging with branding strategies and promotional goals. They also collaborate with operations teams to ensure that all written materials, such as web content, menus, and guest communications, accurately reflect current offerings and guest experiences. Regular meetings and feedback sessions are common, fostering an environment where copywriters can ask questions about new services or upcoming events and adjust content accordingly. This collaborative approach helps ensure that all guest-facing communication is clear, enticing, and consistent across platforms.

Job description

About Saylor

Saylor is an entertainment-led creative agency built for brands that want to earn attention, not interrupt it. Founded by former Netflix and Disney marketers, we exist at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and strategy, bringing the sensibility of entertainment to brands ready to act less like advertisers and more like creators.

Saylor exists to help brands become the show - not the ad break. We watched agencies keep making ads in a world where people want to be entertained. We started Saylor to change that: To help brands act like creators, not corporations. To think like publishers, not advertisers. To stop chasing attention, and start earning it.

We're a tightknit crew who collaborate without ego, stay curious, and always show up for one another. We foster a supportive space where diverse perspectives are celebrated, hierarchy never blocks great ideas, and everyone is empowered to jump in, solve problems, and push creative boundaries together.

Position Overview

Saylor seeks an innovative, sharp Social Copywriter with experience in social media copywriting, content strategy, and creative development to join the Creative direction team. This role will support a major travel and hospitality account. The ideal candidate is exceedingly creative, collaborative, strategic, and obsessed with social media and marketing trends. You will support the Associate Creative Director and Creative Team in shaping efforts on pitches, accounts, and brand and marketing campaigns. This person will be responsible for leading group brainstorms, ideating independently, developing concepts, crafting voice and tone, and writing scripts and copy inclusive of post captions and on-screen supers.

The Copywriter will take the lead on certain initiatives with some collaboration and oversight from the Associate Creative Director (ACD) to maintain alignment throughout the process. Externally, you'll be client-facing and help make sure the ACD's vision is executed. Internally, you'll collaborate across all teams at Saylor-partnering with Strategy, inspiring Accounts, and working closely with Creative Production (Design/Editorial) to elevate individual assets and entire campaigns. Throughout, you'll verify all creative aligns with strategy and brand voice through copy, design, and execution.

About You

A continuous fountain of fresh ideas, you have a deep archive of references and experiences to pull from and you always have your thumb on the pulse of what's clicking with audiences on social media. You're a natural wordsmith who can adapt to various tones and legacy brand voices, finding unique ways for copy to stand out and take up meaningful space. You're not afraid to share your ideas in a room-whether it's with internal teams or clients-and you enthusiastically build up your teammate's ideas through radical collaboration. Flexibility and a positive attitude come naturally to you, and you create open and symbiotic environments conducive to generating ideas without ego or shallow judgment. Curiosity, kindness, empathy, and playfulness are core tenets that you value and freely dispense.

You feel confident and comfortable with the intricacies of travel and hospitality marketing, with experience supporting or guiding high-profile creative projects from ideation to execution. You love a pitch deck and working with Creative, Strategy, and Accounts to create a cohesive, unique campaign strategy. You feel secure talking with clients about their vision and needs, offering creative solutions that make them want to come back for more best-in-class campaigns.

Location and Salary

This is a full-time contract role with a salary of $75,000-$110,000, depending on experience. This contract will end at the end of December 2026, with the possibility of extension into 2027. The ability to come into our Echo Park (Los Angeles) office twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Heavy ideation and articulate concepting for everything from lo-fi reactive content to high-lift social-first campaigns.
  • Taking creative guidelines from ACD and CD and performing execution accordingly.
  • Quickly concepting ideas from an existing content library to generate high volume, always on social marketing.
  • Plugging into and adapting a legacy IP brand voice while keeping it sharp and social-first.
  • Attending client meetings and presenting creative ideas, frequently serving as a creative liaison between Saylor and our clients.
  • Social media copywriting, deck copywriting, and other writing tasks as they arise.
  • Crafting of tone and voice that will inform high-visibility campaigns and pitches.
  • Partnering with Creative Production, Strategy, Creative, and Editorial teams on bringing high-quality creative to life through scripting and production kick-off meetings.
  • Providing strategic insight on content executions and relevant internet language to ensure the project is backed up by sound creative tactics and up-to-date best practices.
  • Working with Saylor's Account and Strategy teams to help maintain and execute the visual and written language for brands/campaigns.
  • Facilitating the creation of storyboards, scripts, and creative mockups that serve as the foundation for visual direction.
  • Reviewing all creative assets before they are sent to clients or released, providing actionable feedback and quality control.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in an agency setting or in-house at a studio or brand, with experience creating and leading marketing/branded content.
  • High-level understanding of 360 campaign creative; social-forward aesthetic and storytelling thinking is a must.
  • Proven ability to consistently write sharp, social-first copy across various formats and platforms.
  • Incredible storytelling skills, with the ability to assist on pitches and sell the creative in the room to our clients.
  • A knack for juggling multiple brand voices and crafting copy for social posts, pitch decks, and voice-intensive projects.
  • An eye for strong ideas and executions with the ability to communicate its effectiveness.
  • Finger on the pulse of creative culture across platforms and able to pull references from diverse sources.
  • Ability to seamlessly bounce between projects of varying complexity.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet tight, high-volume deadlines.
  • Honed ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Attention to detail especially in regards to proofreading and MLA-level formatting.
