About the Opportunity: 
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire two part-time Front Desk Hospitality Associates to join our Field House teamwho can work Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. These hours are subject to change based on scheduling needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor. The Front Desk Associate will report to the Assistant General Manager and work closely with all Department Managers.

In this role, you will be expected to:  

  • Create and enhance relationships between Field House patrons and Chelsea Piers with greetings and farewells, as well as assisting with directions 

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails & in-person inquiries in a friendly manner 

  • Assist customers with all aspects of Field House registration including but not limited to providing information on our programs, registering for classes, and managing accounts 

  • Accurately and efficiently execute customer transactions, registrations, and payments 

  • Be aware, review, and update scheduled events/programming, including drop-ins 

  • Must always maintain a neat and professional appearance, including the wearing of assigned nametag and uniform 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient retail and apparel space 

  • Receive deliveries and provide timely communication to recipients 

  • Log accident & occurrence reports  

  • Display a thorough understanding of Field House and all its offerings 

  • Respond to Building issues and troubleshoot internally/externally 

  • Maintain building safety, including opening and closing procedures 

  • Consistently replenish inventory of safety supplies and be mindful of safety procedures 

  • Other business-related duties deemed necessary by Supervisor

    Qualifications: 

    • Must have superior customer service skills and at least 1 year of face-to-face customer service experience 

    • Must be energetic and hard working 

    • Must have excellent English verbal & written communication skills 

    • High School Diploma/GED required 

    • Must always maintain professional and courteous manner 

    • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

    • Must enjoy working in a team environment 

    • Prior cashier experience a plus 

    • Ability to lift, carry, load, unload, push, and pull up to 30lbs  

    • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop and walk for the majority of their time at work
