Job description

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the receipt and processing of orders for blood products, transportationย  ofย  productsย  toย  andย  fromย  theย  appropriateย  location.ย  Transportationย  ofย unprocessedย  productsย  and sampleย  tubesย  toย  theย  laboratoryย  forย  processing,ย  receiptย  ofย importedย  bloodย  products,ย  returns,ย  andย  transfersย  of inventoryย  fromย  oneย  distributionย locationย  toย  another.ย  Providesย  excellentย  customerย  serviceย  toย  allย  customersย  and ensures proper documentation of all processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.ย  Other duties may be assigned.


1.ย ย ย ย  Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Is responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention of management.

2.ย ย ย ย  Receives and enters orders for blood products.

3.ย ย ย ย  Completes electronic shipment of blood products.

4.ย ย ย ย  Packages and delivers shipments.

5.ย ย ย ย  Prepares and transports unprocessed blood products and sample tubes for manufacturing.

6.ย ย ย ย  Delivers supplies to donor centers as required.

7.ย ย ย ย  Completes return transactions.

8.ย ย ย ย  Completes transfer of inventory between distribution locations.

9.ย ย ย ย  Receives and processes imported blood products.

10.ย ย ย  Retrieves specimen pick-ups as required by the Reference Laboratory.

11.ย ย ย  Performs vehicle inspections as instructed and reports any damage, malfunctions, or needed repairs in a timely fashion.

12.ย ย ย  Processes outdated or unsuitable products for discard.

13.ย ย ย  Completes special collection/procedure billing procedures as assigned.

14.ย ย ย  Initiates and completes component retrieval as needed.

15.ย ย ย  Ensures that all blood products are stored appropriately, and responds to all storage location alarms, moving product when necessary.

16.ย ย ย  Performs inventory audit.

17.ย ย ย  Prepares and provides historical antigen negative products as requested.

18.ย ย ย  Ensures proper inventory rotation.

19.ย ย ย  Ensures complete and accurate documentation of processes as required, compiles and maintains files, and keeps all work areas neat and clean.

EDUCATION:

Hospitalย ย  Servicesย ย  Technicianย ย  l:ย  Experienceย  in materialย  handlingย  and drivingย ย preferred. Experience in loading/unloading preferred. Hospitalย  Servicesย  Technicianย  ll:ย  Mustย  beย  signed offย  onย  allย  SOPโ€™s forย  Hospitalย  Servicesย Technicianย  lย  moduleย  and demonstrate competency in all assigned functions for six months after the completion of training, unless otherwise determined by management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC.

Valid California Driverโ€™s License.
