Your future role at a glance

Location: Anderson, IN

Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Anderson

Department/Specialty: Transportation

Schedule: Days | Part Time | 32 hours per week | Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday. Between the hours of 7:00am-4:30pm

How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Deliver safe and compassionate transit by operating specialized hospital vehicles with a focus on traffic safety and patient comfort during every trip.

  • Facilitate seamless patient access by assisting riders with limited mobility in and out of vehicles and buildings, ensuring they reach their appointments with dignity and ease.

  • Master complex logistics by navigating efficient routes and adapting schedules in real-time to ensure every participant arrives at their destination on time.

  • Guarantee vehicle readiness and safety by performing daily inspections and maintaining meticulous logs to ensure all equipment, including wheelchair lifts, is in peak condition.

  • Support departmental excellence by collaborating with supervisors on daily activities and communicating any route disruptions to keep the transportation team running smoothly.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Licensed Chauffeur preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

  • Excellent driving record, scheduling experience, transportation experience with patient lifts and wheelchairs
