Job description

Introduction
This AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Seattle, Washington is hiring for an Associate Veterinarian to join its established and collaborative team. Serving the local community since 1945, the practice has built a reputation for delivering high-quality veterinary care in a welcoming, community-focused environment. As part of a veterinarian-owned five-hospital group with no outside investors or corporate ownership, the hospital offers genuine clinical autonomy, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to pursue individual interests while helping expand services within the practice. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates seeking a supportive environment with long-term career development.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative care for canine and feline patients, including wellness care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and client communication. Full-time veterinarians typically work four 10-hour shifts per week, with dedicated surgery days incorporated into the schedule. The practice encourages doctors to develop additional clinical interests and services, helping to expand the level of care available within the hospital. New graduates benefit from a tailored mentorship programme featuring dedicated mentors, gradual onboarding, shadowing opportunities, dental continuing education, and structured clinical development designed around individual experience levels and career goals. Non-surgical veterinarians are also encouraged to apply.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital provides care exclusively for dogs and cats and is equipped with digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, Class IV laser therapy, in-house laboratory equipment, electronic medical records, and EzyVet practice management software. Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, allowing veterinarians the time needed to practise thorough medicine and build meaningful client relationships. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on weekends, supporting an excellent work-life balance. As part of a locally owned five-hospital group, veterinarians have opportunities to collaborate, learn, and share knowledge across multiple locations. The practice promotes a Fear Free approach for both patients and team members while fostering a culture centred around continuous learning and professional growth.

Team
The hospital currently has a team of five veterinarians supported by highly trained licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and support staff committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The culture is collaborative, transparent, and people-focused, with an emphasis on teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect. Leadership actively supports professional development and encourages team members to contribute ideas, expand their skills, and help shape the future of the practice. The result is a positive, ego-free working environment where veterinarians are trusted to practise high-quality medicine while benefiting from the support of an experienced and dedicated team.
