Job description

Plans and oversees the recruitment, training, and retention for the Safety, Security, & Parking Department. Coordinates all training for department, to include department orientations, security academies, on-going training. Also coordinates workplace violence training for HH Health System. Works with department leadership to plan all department events, to include recognition events and department meetings.      


Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED required.  Prefer degree in law, law enforcement, public safety, marketing, human resources or business related field from an accredited college or university. Must have the following within specified timeframe:

  • Heart Saver CPR certification (within 90 days)
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), OCAT/PATH, Defensive Driving, NSC Defensive Driving Instructor, CHSP, CHPA, Taser Instructor, or a director approved credential (within 18-months)
  • HR Management Series completed (12-months)
  • IAHSS Membership (within 12-months)
  • IAHSS Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor credentialed (within 12-months)

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory in a comparable security, training, human resource, or customer service operation. Must possess a driver’s license and be insurable by HH standards. Experience in  health care setting preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.  Excellent customer service and communication skills needed with the ability to enforce policies in an assertive, yet courteous manner.  Must possess above average computer skills and be very well organized.
