What is a hospital security officer?

Hospital security officers are trained professionals responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within healthcare facilities. They monitor entry points, patrol hospital premises, respond to emergencies, and help protect patients, staff, and visitors from potential threats or disturbances. These officers also enforce hospital policies, assist with conflict resolution, and may work closely with local law enforcement when necessary. Their presence helps ensure that healthcare operations run smoothly and safely.

How does a hospital security officer typically collaborate with medical staff to ensure a safe environment?

Hospital security officers work closely with medical staff by responding to emergency calls, assisting with patient or visitor disturbances, and conducting routine patrols to prevent unauthorized access. Familiarity with surveillance systems, access control technology, and incident reporting software is typically necessary.
