Job description

Security Officer Position Summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital (SGMH) is seeking professional, service-oriented Security Officers to help provide a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, providers, and associates. If you are passionate about public safety, customer service, and making a difference in your community, we invite you to join our team.

As a Security Officer, you will help protect the people, property, and operations of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. You will patrol hospital buildings and grounds, respond to emergencies, monitor security systems, investigate incidents, and provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe environment for everyone who enters our campus.

What You'll Do

  • Patrol hospital buildings, parking lots, and grounds.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency security incidents.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security systems.
  • Assist patients, visitors, providers, and staff with safety and security concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, fire personnel, EMS, and other emergency responders.
  • Conduct investigations and interviews.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Promote a welcoming, safe, and professional environment through visible security presence and proactive engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • One (1) year of relevant security experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses & Certifications

Candidates must possess and maintain:

  • Current California Guard Card in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/AED certification.
  • Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Current automobile insurance.

Required Training

  • Complete IAHSS Basic Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Complete FEMA IS-100, IS-200, and IS-700 courses within one year of hire.
  • Complete CSTI AVADE® Workplace Violence Awareness and Prevention training.
  • Complete all required Relias and assigned training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare security.
  • Experience in corporate security, military service, corrections, or law enforcement.
  • Previous experience responding to emergencies or critical incidents.
