Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking dedicated Behavior Technicians (BTs) for an exciting opportunity working with adults experiencing severe behavioral health crises at River Edge. We are currently hiring 4 Behavior Technicians for a 13-week contract assignment.

Position Details
  • Pay: $26/hour
  • Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Days: Weekdays and weekends
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: August 17, 2026
  • Openings: 4
Job Responsibilities

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works closely with behavioral specialists and clinical staff to support individuals with special needs and severe behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing behavioral intervention plans under clinical supervision
  • Monitoring and documenting client behaviors
  • Supporting therapeutic and daily living activities
  • Promoting safety for clients and staff
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams
  • Assisting clients in achieving behavioral and learning goals
  • Utilizing de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises
Important Assignment Information

This assignment involves working with adults in a behavioral health diagnostic center and transition home. Candidates should be comfortable managing and responding to behaviors such as:

  • Property destruction
  • Self-injurious behaviors
  • Verbal aggression
  • Physical aggression toward residents and staff
  • Severe behavioral health crisis situations

Candidates will be selected based on prior experience and demonstrated ability to safely handle severe behavioral crisis behaviors.

Minimum Requirements

? Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification Required

? High School Diploma or GED

? Minimum age of 18 years

? Behavioral health, ABA, psychiatric, or related experience preferred

? Experience working with individuals exhibiting aggressive or crisis behaviors strongly preferred

? Current BLS/CPR Certification

? Current TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray as required)

? Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulations)

? Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

? Valid Driver's License
