We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager who is excited by the opportunity to help grow a new hospital into a thriving practice. About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of Portland Vet Stroudwater. Working closely with hospital leadership, you'll play a critical role in launching the hospital, establishing workflows, building an engaged team, and creating an exceptional experience for clients and patients from day one. This is more than managing an existing practice it's an opportunity to use your experience to build a successful hospital. Your leadership will help shape the culture, operational systems, and team that will support the hospital's long-term success.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday
  • Four 10-hour weekdays to start
  • As the practice grows and our hours expand, this schedule may be adjusted to meet hospital needs
  • Flexibility is a plus

Compensation

  • $75,000 - $95,000/year

What You'll Do

  • Lead the daily operations of the hospital, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop veterinary technicians, client service representatives, and support staff.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
  • Partner with the Operations Director and Medical Director to achieve operational and financial goals.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and hospital performance.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and ongoing employee development.
  • Ensure exceptional client service and patient care standards are maintained.
  • Resolve client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help create an environment where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • Veterinary Technology degree and 3+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
  • 1+ years of leadership or management experience in veterinary medicine.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for building teams, developing people, and creating efficient operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive team culture.
  • Financial and operational management experience, including budgeting and KPI tracking.
