Job description

Beverly Hospital is seeking experienced and committed pharmacy interns to join our team.
Beverly Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and not-for-profit community hospital. Located on the North Shore of Massachusetts, the hospital is part of the renowned Beth Israel Lahey Health System and utilizes the integrated resources to provide high quality care for our patients, including for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Inpatient maternity and psychiatry services are also offered for the community. The Pharmacy Department provides services to the Northeast Hospital Corporation which is comprised of Beverly Hospital, Addison Gilbert Hospital, BayRidge Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Heath Care Center-Danvers.
Pharmacy Interns ensure safe, effective, and timely patient-centered care, and are integral to the pharmacy healthcare team. The role requires performing a wide variety of duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist relating to the preparation, distribution, and storage of pharmaceuticals for patients. Pharmacy Interns work with computerized and automated systems for dispensing medications and preparing intravenous admixtures, as well as chemotherapy products. Team members are responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients. Once trained, be responsible for teaching and training other interns and assisting in administrative duties.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
•Knowledge of hospital practice and operations
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and other colleagues
•Expertise in clinical knowledge and patient care
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
•Current licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern
EDUCATION:
•High School graduate at least 18 years of age
EXPERIENCE:
•Related pharmacy experience is preferred
•Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience
HOURS:
•All Weekday shifts start at either 6:00 am or 7 am, with rare rotations for evening shifts (starting at 2:30pm or 3pm) during vacation coverage. This position will be in the on-call rotation for covering the overnight shift. Interns rotate through the various shifts for weekend coverage that is approximately once every three weeks.
OTHER:
•Must be willing to work at multiple locations (Beverly Hospital (primary), Addison Gilbert Hospital, Bayridge Hospital, LOCD, etc.)
•Must have personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for means of transportation

Pay Range:

$21.00 - $21.00

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
