Responsibilities

The Staff RN is directly accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. He / She will communicate with the physician about the changes in the patients' clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The staff RN recognizes life threatening situation/ changes in conditions and/or responses to treatment quickly and accurately responds.   The Staff RN maintains accurate and relevant record of all patient care.  The Staff RN is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies. The Staff RN actively participating in cost containment and assisting in accurate charging for patient services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred
  • Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write)
  • Current and valid Nevada RN License.
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ACLS (AHA) certification required
  • PALS (AHA) certification required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification within 12 months of hire preferred
  • ENA (Emergency Nurse Association) membership within 12 months of hire preferred
  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification within 24 months of hire preferred
