 About the Role
Shodair Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated Care Management Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers across our Acute and Residential units. This role ensures seamless transitions of care, supports patient and family education, and upholds the highest standards of safety and compassion in every interaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Admit and discharge patients entering from community settings and coordinate intrahospital transfers. 
  • Complete documentation related to admission and discharge assessments and initial treatment plans. 
  • Assist units with patient arrivals, departures, therapeutic passes, and hospital discharges. 
  • Provide nursing care as needed, including medication administration, patient monitoring, and crisis response support. 
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and patient/family education. 
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, efficient, and therapeutic care. 
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and the Montana Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited RN program. 
  • Licensure: Current RN license in the State of Montana (or Nurse Licensure Compact state). 
  • Certifications: CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (within 3 months of hire). 
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric or pediatric nursing.
