Job description

Job Title: Linen Service Worker
Location: RWJUH Hamilton Hospital
Department Name: Laundry
Req #: 0000260769
Status: Hourly
Shift: Day
Pay Range: $15.97 - $18.35 per hour
Pay Transparency:
The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Linen Service Worker us responsible for cleaning and unloading delivery of clean linen onto shelves in clean then linen room.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must meet 50 lbs frequent lift and/ or carry requirement
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must be able to climb a 5 foot level ladder without assistance

Preferred:
  • Experience with washing and drying linen

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Part-time Day
  • 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Every other weekend and holidays

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance in EVS uniform daily
  • Follow schedule for days of work- along with assigned lunch and breaks
  • Unload delivery of clean linen onto shelves in clean linen room
  • Readily restocks and delivers clean linen to all parts of the hospital
  • Properly contains and collects soiled linen thought the hospital
  • Properly stages dirty linen bins for pickup
  • Keep linen area neat and sterile at all times
  • Wear PPE as/ when required
  • Properly setup and take down TruD sterile Robot
  • Take down/ replace curtains as needed
  • Communicate Professionally to resolving incoming and out going linen request via phone from nursing staff & department directors
  • Assist with retrieval of beds and supplies needed on demand
  • Preform trained Environmentalist duties when coverage is required
  • Use cleaning/ sterile products to exact training method
  • Comply with OSHA & NJ Hospital cleaning guidelines
  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedule
  • Upkeep for department linen logs/ request
  • Maintenance and upkeep of all equipment used by EVS department
  • Assist in the setting up and breaking down of all special functions both internal and external
  • Be kind and courteous to patients and staff when entering their spaces
