Job description

Sterile Processing Tech Lead - Instrument Coordinator

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is your community medical provider, serving the Willamette Valley and its residents.  Our 113-bed hospital offers inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, medical, surgical and emergency care.  We are a family of caregivers offering care to our larger family — our community. 

Position Details:

  • Hourly Base Rate: $23.96 - $30.07
  • Hours Per Week: 40 hours - M-F - Day Shift
  • SEIU Local 49 represented position.

Job Summary:

  • The Sterile Processing Technician Lead - Instrument Coordinator prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as for the Operating Rooms.
  • Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location.
  • Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontaminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use.
  • The Sterile Processing Technician Lead - Instrument Coordinator will also assist in training newly hired technicians.
  • Receive, document, and distribute loaner instrumentation.
  • Coordinate surgeon and patient specific cases on a daily basis. 
  • Communicate with vendor reps and coordinate drop off/pick up of instrumentation per policies.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through HSPA or other recognized or accredited program required.
  • 10 years Sterile Processing experience required.
  • CIS strongly preferred.
