1. Serves as a neurovascular "nurse navigator" by coordinatingreferrals, patient/family education and care planning, relating topatients with neurovascular pathologies, streamlining their careexperience at the University. Develops and evaluates educationprograms and materials to facilitate patient education and careplanning in these areas.
2. Works with IT and Neurosciences Outreach to collectcomprehensive data to understand and quantify the neurovasculartelehealth program (studying regional use rates, barriers to care,patient experience, etc). Will work intra- and interdepartmentallyto develop and evaluate standards, policies and procedures forprovision of a safe and therapeutic patient environment.
3. Acts as a liaison with intuitional biomedical informatics corefor quantitative data analysis, working closely with affiliatedfaculty.
4. Provides clinical education to clinic and nursing staff, andcare coordinators. Develops and conducts continuing educationprograms utilizing internal and external resources based on anevaluation of continuing education needs.
5. Serves as a content expert in developing and providingeducation for specialty area (neurovascular).
6. Functions as liaison to staff in complex outpatient patientcare situations. Collaborates on the development of guidelines fordocumentation and care planning based on current clinical andresearch information.
7. Promotes the utilization of research findings in clinicalpractice. Facilitates and/or conducts research independently and/orcollaboratively.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge andskills necessary to perform the aforementioned essentialfunctions.

Master's Degree in a nurse specialty from an accredited program;current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or as anAdvance Practice Registered Nurse (A.P.R.N.) in the State of Utah;basic life support health care provider card or obtain one withinone month of hire; and demonstrated human relation and effectivecommunication skills required or equivalency (one year of educationcan be substituted for two years of related work experience).
