Job description

Overview
Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures. Prepares food for patients, retail outlets, catering, doctor's lounge etc.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares various types of hot foods, baked items, sandwiches, and other short order items
following production sheets and approved recipes and prepares modified diet foods for all
outlets.
2. Performs various types of cooking and baking operations using such standard kitchen
equipment as stoves, ovens, broilers, and microwave ovens.
3. Ensures that food is prepared using proper quality control (HACCP) and sanitation
standards, and in sufficient quantities to minimize waste.
4. Distributes food to appropriate locations.
5. Ability to work well independently given proper directions.
5. Cleans and maintains standard kitchen equipment used in food preparation.
6. Ensures that food preparation area is properly cleaned and sanitized.
7. Ensures that leftover foods are properly labeled dated and stored properly. Completes
food temperature checks utilizing taste and temperature logs.
8. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies
and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment
malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
  1. One (1) year food service experience with Northside OR one (1) year of experience as a
    Cook in Hospital Food Service or restaurant

PREFERRED
1. ServSafe certification preferred.
Work Hours:
6:00 PM - 2:30 AM
