Job Summary and Qualifications

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO)โ€ฏis a critical financial leadership pipeline role that serves as a direct tributary into the hospital Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role. This position manages the Financial Accounting and Reporting Department to ensure that itis providing effective and efficient service.โ€ฏ  


What you will do in this role: 


  • You will demonstrate understanding of application of healthcare finance to impact clinical and financial results 


  • You will execute HCA Healthcareโ€™s capital asset management process 


  • You will demonstrate knowledge of HIM and Case Management/Care Coordination functions 


  • You will establish expertise in productivity, staffing and scheduling 


  • You will demonstrate competence in hospital accounting, internal control environment and compliance requirements 


  • You will establish executive presence (temperament, competencies and skills across situations) 


What qualifications you will need: 


  • Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or other related area required 


  • Masterโ€™s degree in related field preferred 


  • Minimum of three years in finance/accounting or public accounting/audit experience 


  • Experience as a hospital Controllerpreferred 


  • Previous supervisory experience preferred 


  • CPA preferred 


Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is a 350-bed hospital that provides a wide range of medical services. It is accredited by the American College of Radiology for radiation oncology services and by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program for bariatric surgery. Its inpatient rehabilitation facility is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities in the Central Savannah River Area. The hospitalโ€™s laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and its Center for Stroke Care is accredited by The Joint Commission. Its electroencephalogram (EEG) laboratory is accredited by the Laboratory Accreditation Board of ABRET.
