Description:Travel Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN)

Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC) | Polacca, Arizona
Indian Health Service (IHS) | Full-Time Contract | Travel Opportunity

Position Overview

Vision Quest Solutions (VQS) is seeking experienced Outpatient Registered Nurses to support Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC), an Indian Health Service facility serving the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona.

The Outpatient RN provides nursing care within a multidisciplinary ambulatory clinic, supporting preventive health services, chronic disease management, patient education, immunizations, and provider procedures. This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care for patients across the lifespan.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments and obtain comprehensive health histories.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures.
  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and prescribed treatments.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, disease management, and preventive care.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care.
  • Perform telephone triage and respond appropriately to patient concerns.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Outpatient, ambulatory, family practice, or primary care experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet all federal credentialing and background requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Indian Health Service, Tribal Health, VA, or federal healthcare experience.
  • Prior travel nursing experience.
  • Experience in ambulatory or rural healthcare settings.
  • Excellent patient education and communication skills.
