What is a honeydew?

Honeydew refers to a type of sweet, pale-green melon that is part of the muskmelon family. It is known for its smooth, waxy rind and juicy, mildly flavored flesh. Honeydew melons are popular in fruit salads, desserts, and as a refreshing snack. They are grown in warm climates and are typically harvested in late summer. When selecting a honeydew, choose one that feels heavy for its size and has a slightly waxy surface.

What types of projects do honeydew inspectors typically handle, and how do they collaborate with agricultural teams?

Honeydew inspectors are responsible for assessing the quality and safety of honeydew melons during harvesting and packaging. They often work closely with farm workers, quality control specialists, and supply chain managers to ensure that only top-grade produce reaches the market. Collaboration involves daily inspections, providing feedback to harvesting teams, and maintaining detailed records for traceability. This role presents challenges such as working in varying weather conditions and meeting strict deadlines during peak harvest season, but it offers valuable experience in quality assurance and agricultural logistics.

Job description

About Honeydew
Our mission is to ensure that no one in the world has to suffer from a treatable skin concern because of an access issue ever again.
Honeydew is building a platform for hundreds of millions of people globally to access expertise and science-backed skin treatments, including FDA-approved and custom-formulated prescriptions. We've helped 50,000+ patients get life-changing results, we're growing 4x YoY, and we're just getting started. We're digitally native, scientifically rooted, integrated end-to-end (evaluation + treatments + lab tests), and fueled by a drive to empower every consumer with options that actually work.
The Opportunity
We're looking for one person to build Honeydew a viral social presence. You can choose how.
This is not a "manage our channels" or "keep the grid consistent" kind of role. Instead, you'll educate the world on skin treatment that actually works by building and launching content a million people can't scroll past, over and over. Then, you'll help turn that attention into patients accessing life-changing care.
If you're the person who knows how to earn and hold attention online, this is a rare amount of creative control paired with a rare amount of upside.
What to expect:
You run our socials. All of it, or just the platforms you decide are worth winning. You decide.
You pick the channels and the formats. You decide what we make and what we skip. You're not waiting on a brief or a strategy deck, you are the strategy. We'll supply you with dermatologists, patients, teammates, and a host of other great creators to feature in content. We'll give you the budget to take big swings, and working hand in hand with our top-tier creative team, you'll create content that's unignorable.
The bar for this role is simple and it's high: Honeydew content consistently goes viral. 1M+ view content on a regular basis, driving real traffic to our site, repeatedly.
Performance here is bimodal. Either this works and it's obvious to everyone, or it doesn't, and there isn't much in between. Hit it, and you'll have built something very few people can, and you'll be rewarded for it. The right social guru can absolutely soar here.
Who we're looking for:
You know how to get and keep people's attention online.
That's it.
Maybe you've done it for a brand or maybe you've done it for yourself and have the following to prove it. Maybe you've never held the title but you've made things that blew up and you know exactly why they did.
You don't need a resume to apply for this role. We care that you can point at content you made and say "that's mine, that's why it worked, and I can do it again."
There are some 'nice to haves' - great if you have them, fine if you don't:
  • Community instincts (Discord, Reddit, the places our patients actually hang out)
  • A feel for our brand and the confidence to push it somewhere new
  • Comfort reading your own numbers and letting them change what you make next
  • Event / activation marketing chops - turning IRL events into a viral story on socials

If you need a playbook handed to you, this isn't the role for you. If you've been waiting for someone to just let you cook, it just might be.
What We Offer
  • equity in Honeydew
  • flexible PTO
  • great health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401k w/ company match
  • One Medical, Kindbody, Talkspace, and HealthAdvocate membership
  • a company MacBook & monthly internet stipend
Location
NYC-based and preferred, but for the right person who can prove they can do this, we're flexible.
If this isn't you but someone just came to mind, send them our way.
