Job description

Strother Apiaries is a growing beekeeping business managing 40 hives across five locations in Northern New Jersey. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Apiary Assistant to work directly with the owner and help with day-to-day beekeeping and honey production.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with hive inspections and routine beekeeping
  • Moving hive boxes, frames, honey supers, and equipment
  • Harvesting honey from our apiary locations
  • Helping extract, filter, bottle, and label honey
  • Cleaning and organizing beekeeping and honey extraction equipment
  • Recording basic hive and harvest information
  • Preparing honey orders and inventory
  • Helping with farmers markets, deliveries, and other sales activities
  • Traveling between our apiary locations as needed

No previous beekeeping experience is required. We can teach the right person.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, comfortable working outdoors, willing to learn, and able to work around live honey bees.

Applicants should be comfortable working in summer heat and lifting approximately 40–50 lbs.
