Job description

The incumbent serves as a key liaison between Honda's Powersports, Power Equipment & Marine (PS&P) business and the dealer network, providing strategic sales leadership, business consulting, and operational support to drive retail sales performance, strengthen brand representation, enhance customer satisfaction, and foster long-term owner loyalty. This role works closely with the Zone Sales Manager and dealer partners to achieve sales, market share, and program objectives; execute district and regional business strategies; monitor performance against established targets; and implement action plans that support Honda's overall business goals and growth initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic sales and business management support to the dealer network by:

    • Achieving Motorcycle, ATV, SXS, Power Equipment, and Marine retail sales objectives within the assigned territory.

    • Maintaining an effective balance of in-person dealer visits and virtual engagements to build strong dealer relationships.

    • Reviewing monthly and annual sales performance, inventory levels, and key business metrics to identify opportunities and risks.

    • Assessing dealer performance and developing targeted action plans to address areas requiring improvement.

    • Coaching and supporting dealers to improve results, while monitoring progress against agreed-upon action plans.

    • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of monthly sales reports and performance updates.

  • Conduct effective dealer visits by:

    • Documenting dealer interactions through detailed contact reports and maintaining accurate visit records / travel logs.

    • Delivering professional dealer presentations and strategic business reviews.

    • Developing territory analyses and providing regular market, sales, and performance updates to Zone Sales Manager.

  • Identify, recruit, and develop new dealer opportunities within assigned Primary Market Areas (PMAs), while supporting existing dealers in maximizing market potential and maintaining Honda's latest facility and brand standards.

  • Increase dealer participation in Honda business initiatives, including Honda Plus Extended Warranty programs, Parts Booking programs, and Honda Certified Salesperson Training.

  • Perform a variety of administrative and planning functions, including:

  • Developing sales forecasts, allocation plans, and business strategies for both dealers and Zone / National Office.

  • Reviewing and coordinating dealer submissions, including financial statements, co-op funding requests, and other required documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or college diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • Several years of experience within powersports, automotive, marine, or related industries, with a background in sales, dealer development, account management, or business operations.

  • Previous wholesale or field sales experience is considered an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of Motorcycle, ATV, SXS, Power Equipment, and Marine retail and wholesale operations.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Working knowledge of business management principles, including financial and accounting fundamentals.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated initiative, integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess business performance and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including occasional evenings and weekends to support dealer events, trade shows, and corporate initiatives.

  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
