Job Purpose

A Crash Test Engineer will be responsible for preparing and properly performing crash safety related tests; both component level and full car to support vehicle developments. They should then be able to analyze test and simulation data and summarize the results via written reports.

Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for preparing and properly performing crash safety related testing for vehicle developments, analyzing test and simulation data and summarizing the results.
  • General activities will also include developing planning targets & specifications for the crash safety performance and collaborating with other design engineers.
  • Test results and analysis to be communicated through written reports, summaries and small group meetings.
  • Responsible for developing, calibrating, and validating crash sensing systems and strategies, including sensor performance evaluation, crash event detection analysis, and coordination with restraint system engineers to ensure robust occupant protection performance across regulatory and consumer test conditions
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (or Equivalent).
  • 0-2 years relevant experience in crash safety test industry.
  • CAE tools preferred (LS-Dyna, ANSA, Meta-Post), Catia, Linux OS, MS Office.
Working Conditions
  • Willingness to work in a physical testing environment is required, including execution of physical tests (component, and full-vehicle crash tests). Overtime work and occasional travel will be required depending on project need.
