5-10 hours a week (on student contact days)

Overview:

The K-4 Aftercare High School Student Worker is responsible for being a positive role model through actions, leading, assisting with homework help and implementing recreational and creative experiences for school-age children in a group setting. This staff member will nurture and guide our K-4 students during the after-care portion of the day (2:00-3:30 p.m.).


Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Possess a strong Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity. Believe and actively support the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Possess a passion for Christian education and student discipleship. Individual must be comfortable connecting the biblical truths and biblical worldview perspectives to their students' lives.
  • Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for school-age children. Activities may include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily rosters, logbook documentation, and attendance records (*when needed).
  • Ability to manage student behavior while building positive relationships among K-4 students.
  • Good skills in communication, organization, and human relations.
  • Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in all situations.
  • Ability to work with all functions - administration, support staff, other faculty, and students.
  • Previous experience working with K-4 aged children is preferred by not required.
  • Perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be currently enrolled at Legacy as a high school student 16 or older.
