Job description

At the present time, vacancies exist for Part-time Instructional Assistants within the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program, Student Services Division of the CCIU. Currently, there are multiple openings working with elementary school age students, and supporting English Language Learners and/or academic support students.

Qualifications:



  • High school diploma required
  • Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred
  • Experience working with the applicable age group preferred
  • Computer and current technology knowledge required
  • Must have Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check (available through CCIU upon hire)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation      

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist afterschool classroom teachers with the implementation of daily lessons and activities.
  • Provide homework help and academic support to students individually or in small groups.
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.

 
Locations:

  • Hopewell Elementary
  • Avon Grove Intermediate

Schedule:
Monday - Thursday
Avon Grove Intermediate - 3:15PM - 5:45PM
Hopewell Elementary - 3:00PM - 5:30PM
No program on Fridays



Hourly Rate (2026-2027 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you to reference.

  • 0 - 9 yrs experience = $19.38
  • 10 - 13 yrs experience = $21.29
  • 14 - 17 yrs experience = $23.19
  • 18 - 25 yrs experience = $25.11
  • *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $19.38
  • *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $23.19
