Job description

The Site Coordinator of the Middle School After School Program is an integral member of the Academy Programming Staff. This position will work directly with the Director of After School to provide safe after-school care and homework help for 6th-8th grade students at Shady Side Academy’s Rockwell Middle School, located in the Fox Chapel area of Pittsburgh.

Oversee the planning and implementation of the Middle School After School program [occurs weekdays during school year; 3:00pm-6:00pm].  The job consists of 15 average hours per week.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • a bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline and/or have prior employment experience in a learning-focused environment
  • experience and enthusiasm for working with middle school students
  • a passion for fostering a creative learning environment with young students
  • a flexible and team-oriented approach with proven ability to be a self-motivator
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • exceptional organizational skills
  • the capability and comfort level to connect and communicate with many Academy stakeholders, including students’ families, faculty, coaches, and school administrators
  • successful completion of state-required clearances
